Named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries, the Hell’s Gate National Park is a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa.

Hell’s Gate is an ideal venue for a day trip from Nairobi where, in addition to the bio-diversity that includes raptors, visitors can enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing and a natural spa. Via

Reasons why a trip to Hell’s Gate National Park should be on your bucket list before the end of 2018:

  1. Walking Safaris | You get to enjoy walking safaris and even families with young energetic children can take part in a walk in the wild alongside zebras, elands, gazelles and giraffes.
  1. Bike Rides | Bike rides are an option if walking is not what you fancy doing.
  1. Outdoor Camping | Camping facilities are available within the park so it’s a wonderful place for you to pitch up tent under the dazzling Kenyan night sky.
  1. Game Viewing Safaris | On a visit to the park you get to see African buffaloes, zebras, elands, hartebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, baboons and over 100 bird species including vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards and swifts. Rare lammergeier vultures, as well as the Chandler’s mountain reedbuck and the klipspringer antelope also call the park home.
  1. Beautiful Scenery and Hiking | Amazing scenery will surround you thanks to Fischer’s Tower, the Central Tower and the park’s gorge.
  2. Short Distance | The distance from Nairobi to this place is so close.

Our journey started off at around 10:45 am on the 31st of March from the Nairobi CBD for a two hour Drive to The Forest. The cold weather kicked in, good thing we had advised our clients to carry warm clothes in case the weather was chilly. Its a Forest, that was expected but it wasn`t going to stop the whole experience as we all were looking forward to the Adrenaline rush on the Zip Lines.

A group of more than 100 clients wasn`t  going to be easy to manage but we were well prepared for it. First stop for most of us was at the Buffet Table, the food was well prepared and delicious.

Then came the Zip Line which went so well and we are thankful to the Forest staff for making it such…

We didn`t get enough of the rush, so a few of us decided to jump into the war zone: Paintball Field. Which was so epic:

Finally the date is almost here. We have set the date, made all the plans necessary that will make this day a success. Tomorrow, the 30th of March, all roads will be leading to Kereita Forest as we take on the Zip Line Challenge. The Adrenaline, wind rushing through bodies, moving at a top speed of at least 60 km/hr, skimming the treetops and gliding under giant forest canopies, how great will that be.

  • Maximum client weight: 120 KGs.
  • Minimum client height: 1.4M (4 ft. 7 in.)

  • Dress comfortably, wear sports shoes and bring along some warm clothes and a rain coat (we’ll be in the mountains after all! Sunblock would help, as would a sun hat depending on the weather. No skirts, dresses, high heels or jewelry please.

Safety Features

  • Customer safety is a chief priority. The zip wires and equipment are checked daily by instructors, monthly by managers and two or three times per year by international inspectors.

Let’s get zipping

Two instructors will be with you from start to finish. The activity will last 1 – 2 hours. You’ll receive a full demonstration before we get to the big wires, as well as a practice and assessment on a mini zip. Take a deep breath, follow your guides instructions, and get ready to fly high and feel alive.

We can also Explore The Forest.

After your adventure, first we’ll have some lunch! At the Adventure Center the food matches the view. Stunning. The Forest offers other optional activities at separate costs like; paintball, mountain biking, archery, and much much more. For our trip, We`ll have team building.

Pick up and Drop off

Tomorrow we`ll start off the day at 10 am pick up at Bata Shop, Hilton Hotel and drive to the forest. Drop off will be at the same place.
